LIFE IP CleanEST is an integrated water management project that is focused on improving the status of water bodies in Ida-Viru and Lääne-Viru Counties.

The LIFE IP CleanEST project, within the next 10 years, will improve the status of the Virumaa water bodies and will analyse possibilities for improvement. The project covers a total of 240 000 hectares, including a total of 574 km of watercourses and nearly 160 000 hectares of coastal waters.

Summary of Workshop on water ecosystem services assessment methodologies 13.01.2022

Workshop on water ecosystem services assessment methodologies and their practical usage was held online at 13th of January 2022. The international workshop was organised by LIFE IP CleanEST project with participants from Latvia, Finland, Sweden, Netherlands and United Kingdom.

Estonia's first: LIFE IP CleanEST installed floating islands to clean Soolikaoja creek in Rakvere

Estonia's first floating islands, the aim of which is to clean water bodies, were installed on the three ponds of Soolikaoja creek in the city of Rakvere. Improving the aquatic environment of Soolikaoja is part of the ten-year project LIFE IP CleanEST. Plants were planted on 11 floating islands, which clean the water through the roots from the pollutants.
